The Abstracts and Posters platform contains four elements:
1. CRM
Authors have their own profiles and communication preferences. This allows them to access all the congresses they have been invited to publish for, within one single account.
2. Poster submission
This is the private part of the platform where authors are invited to submit one or multiple posters. They can do so either by uploading a poster or by creating one online. Online poster creation is the preferred option because it allows posters to be managed as ePosters (see below) during the congress. An author can have several posters per congress and create different versions of them. Authors can also order a printing service and specify if and how they agree to have their poster shared.
3. Poster viewing
This is the public part of the platform. Access usually opens on the first day of the congress. Posters from past congresses are still available. Visitors can search, browse and download posters either through a graphical and intuitive interface (a carrousel) or through an advanced search form. If poster abstracts are available, these can be viewed as well. ePosters are designed to be used during presentations using large touch screens.
4. Back-office
Restricted to congress managers, the back-office module is used to setup new congresses and poster submission rules, import authors / posters, send invitations and communication to authors, follow-up submissions, manage print orders and approve uploaded documents. It also provides download statistics.
